it's a holiday!
(Jordan bought me a Dunder Mifflin shirt, and Friday, of course, is Office Day, so you deserved a Office-themed Halloween card)

tuesday
tuesday jen and i drove up to Emporia State University to meet with the department heads of library science (me) and psychology (jenny).
it was awful.
jenny's person forgot about her. just forgot. and her second meeting took place fifteen minutes after it was schedule. she was fuming by the time we met back up.
after navigating the largest building on campus to an unmarked office area in the corner, i arrive to my appointment with the director.
she went over the program, assistantships, what i need to do to get in. And then spoke for about 45 minutes about how i should not apply for library school, that i should go and work at a library for a few years and then apply to library school.
awesome. just what i wanted to hear. ma'am could you please tell me when i could find a full-time library position without a library science degree? Sure, i mean, one has to exist somewhere. but not around here. and it also makes me think i'm not cut out for this.
however, at end of the day, jen and i both decided that at least we have one less place we have to apply to.
next on my list of grad schools to visit:

really?
I had a project due this morning.
I knew I did.
A presentation over Ralph Waldo Emerson.
So I was up until 1.30 this morning collecting all these little facts and bits about RWE.
And trying to understand Transcendentalism.
{I still don't understand it.}
Then I woke up at 6 to finish the project.
Around 8, I looked at my syllabus.
Guess what isn't due until Thursday?

it's a sweatpants kinda day
I have so much to get done today (you know, which is why I'm blogging). It's time to clean up the ol' dorm room and get the stack of homework I had all of fall break to work on done. So I've pulled on the sweater and sweatpants, pulled out my REALLY big laundry basket and took a trash bag from the bathroom and am now ready to get this cleaning party started.
3 steps for a cleaning party
And after that?
This.
sigh.
3 steps for a cleaning party
- comfy clothes
ex: - a good movie you have seen about a thousand times so it doesn't distract you (much)
ex:
(I really want to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I think it is going to have to wait) - Snacks! Saltine crackers with honey--yum!

check out this umbrella!
I wanted to like this book. Really I did. But why, oh why, did it have to be so predictable?
The best part about the book was the cover. I love the umbrella! But I would prefer this one:
{hello, my name is jayme and i am an anglophile...}
PS. It's fall break here at OWU, and I'm car-less and roommate-less, thus explaining my mulitple posting. I'M BORED.
P.S.S. If you're reading, drop a comment. I'll do the same for you.
i can hear the bells
previously i had stated that I did not like blogging about my wedding, but over the past week I've began to feel differently. Plus I've been dying to become a Bee since I've started to read weddingbee, and the only way to become one is too have a wedding blog, so you can see all on my wedding details and drama here: www.july18ohnine.blogspot.com

this woman is a genius
"I believe in pink. I believe laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing; kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles."

true blood
yesterday i headed for the lake to chill out and show my grandma my Europe pictures...i ended up staying for several hours, and watching this show on hbo with my grandparents:
True Blood's basic plot? Girl meets Vampire, Girl Tries to Decide if Girl Like Vampire...and that's it at the moment because there has only been 5 episodes. I just spent the last half hour catching up on the first four, and my grandma will be recording it for me from now on. 2008 is definitely the year of the vampire.

CONGRATS!
I'm going to be an aunt again (okay, really a cousin, but being 21 years older, I'm pretty sure that I will be more of an aunt.)!
My cousin Crystal goes in to the hospital around two am, and Little Miss Lilyan Marie will be here! I'm so excited for the family and I can't wait to have another little girl to spoil!
Equality?
I've been questioning this a lot today. Weddingbee, a web site I visit every day was recently sold to eHarmony. Having dated the same fella since my junior year of high school I've never been intrigued by dating websites. Today, however, I have learned a lot about one. And they aren't things that a company should be proud of.
Balancing my beliefs in my Creator and also my instilled belief in equality is something I have struggled with, even more recently as I have began to evaluate most of my beliefs which I see so preached but not practiced in the "Christian" community. I have family members in same-sex relationships that I love, and what to support, but find a small part of me holding back.
This is something I have thought about for a while, and an awful lot today, and it's something I will be thinking about for days to come.
